Using olive oil in soap making process in not a new idea. It has been done hundreds of years ago. The special smoothness of olive oil together with other virtues turn it into the perfect material t put into soaps. Olive oil itself was used in ancient times as a body lotion.

Fats or oils are saponified into soap by the addition of lye. The lye is neutralized during the soap-making process. Olive Oil and lye is mixed with colors, fragrances and moisturizers such as glycerin. A lower grade of olive oil is actually preferred for these purposes, such as pomace or pure oil, because of its lower price and saponification properties. We have selected oils which consistently make good olive oil soap.
